The Alabama Learning Exchange website http://alex.state.al.us is a website designed to help faculty to be informed about state rules and regulations, classroom enhancements and media resources. For example, the Library Media obtains information about book reviews from other faculty which briefly describes the content of reading materials that one may choose to use within the classroom. This is very helpful for many faculty because much of the textbooks used has to be approved before entering the classroom. Because one of the most important subject matters in school is reading, it is important that teachers have access to books that have proven to be helpful for a particular subject matter. This information is also helpful because it eliminates faculty who spend a lot of time filtering and sorting through reading material.

This information would be valuable to me for reviewing textbooks. If I had to review a book for the first time, I could check the site to see the responses of other faculty who may be using the same book or those who have reviewed the book. Also, this site is also helpful for obtaining knowledge about classroom enhancements. What things are necessary in order to keep the students involved with the subject matter. I think this website will be very helpful for many other features as well.
